Objectives

The EU-COLMEV project objectives focus on modernizing energy education through digital transformation, collaborative learning, industry engagement, and inclusive education. The project aims to improve teachers’ ability to develop and share learning resources, strengthen university–industry collaboration, integrate gender equality and social inclusiveness, and expand access to practical education through remote laboratories. It also promotes challenge-based learning to connect academic knowledge with real-world energy and sustainability challenges, while supporting the development and updating of relevant energy programmes and courses. Finally, a Quality Improvement Process will be implemented to ensure that the educational materials and activities developed through the project maintain appropriate quality and relevance. These results respond clearly to many of the needs of the partners, with the below five being the most important ones:

• SO1. Improve the way teachers consume and produce learning material in a collaborative, global, and online context.
• SO2. Establish links with the industry for their participation in academic activities and adapt the materials to local needs in the areas of renewable energy and sustainable development.
• SO3. Identify the requirements of teaching materials and activities to include the gender perspective and social inclusiveness.
• SO4. Create and implement remote labs to improve student accessibility.
• SO5. Prepare and implement challenge-based teaching activities.
• SO6. Create, update, and implement programs/courses using a collaborative approach.
• SO7. Implement a Quality Improvement Process for the quality assurance of materials.

The main aim of the EU-COLMEV project is to modernize energy education in partner universities, particularly in Colombia, Mexico, and Venezuela, by introducing innovative, digital, collaborative, and student-centred approaches. The project focuses on aligning energy education with industry needs, renewable energy and sustainable development, while strengthening gender equality and social inclusiveness
